"Camp Blodgett has been helping kids enjoy their summer on the shores of Lake Michigan for more than 95 years! Camp Blodgett serves children in Kent and Ottawa Counties in West Michigan. Camp Blodgett is located 45 minutes west of Grand Rapids at 10451 Lakeshore Drive in West Olive.
At Camp Blodgett, you will enjoy:

- Biking to the scenic Kirk park
- Canoeing the inlets of Lake Michigan
- Swimming in the pool and Lake Michigan
- Target practice with archery
- Challenging your inner acrobat on the high rope courses and our NEW rock wall
- Team building and Tarzan swinging at the low ropes course
- Fun and challenging workshops, cabin activities and evening events

Financial Assistance: To ensure that all children have the opportunity to attend summer camp, fees for summer camp at Camp Blodgett are determined using a sliding fee scale based on family income and household size. Transportation is also provided to and from the camp from Grand Rapids for all campers.

Currently camp registration is closed. Camp Blodgett will not be offering camp in June, but is planning on offering some form of programming in July and August if we can do so safely and within any restrictions set by local and state government. Camp Michawana is located on 188 acres with 1/4 mile frontage on Long Lake in Barry County. There are 3 facets of program; Summer Kids Camp Weeks (7) serving up to 150 campers ages 6-17, Seasonal RV Family Campground, & Family Camps, Guest Group Rentals. The Summer serves campers from urban Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Detroit, rural areas, some from Indiana. Summer camper programs serve 3 age groupings; Pals, Pioneers, Crusaders with Bible teaching and activities appropriate for each age group. Activities include a myriad of choices; waterfront, high adventures, large group and small group games, worship, teaching, Bible memory, log books, delicious meals, cabin groups, campouts. Facilities provide mini golf, archery tag, gaga ball, athletic field, tennis courts, basketball court, baseball diamond, volleyball courts, shooting ranges, escape cabin, group initiatives, obstacle course, water slide, in ground jump pillow, cook outs, trading post and much more. Campers meet fine cabin counselors, campers from all ethnicities and backgrounds, and learn new skills in crafts, & specialties, that challenge body, intellect, and spiritual growth. Campers report that chapel worship times are their favorites most of the time. Other favorites are water tubing, zip line, swimming and cabin times. The Camp is experiencing growth in attendance. Facility expansion is planned. An 18 hole disc golf course construction is underway.

2023 Camp Schedule
The summer schedules are varied to accommodate each age group differently each day of the week so campers experience everything appropriate for their age. Some choose off grounds specialties offered during first week and trip camps. Schedules and activities offered keep expanding and changing yearly. Campers love each summer because it's different with a different theme and corresponding teaching and activities.

Gerber offers many different year-round programs and are currently developing even more. We rent a large variety of our building out for your scouting events. More information are detailed below in the Year Round Programs and Services. If their is a program you would like to see offered reach out to the Reservation Director; we are always welcome to new ideas.

In recent years, Gerber Scout Reservation attendance has swelled from 900 in 1997 to over 2,500 in 2012. Much of this increase can be attributed to the 1998 initiation of the Betty Ford Cub Scout and Webelos Adventureland, a section of the camp dedicated to Cub Scouts. Gerber currently has the capacity to accommodate 425 Boy Scouts, 200 Cub Scouts each week or session.

Activities offered at the camp include the Waterfront, Climbing Tower/COPE, Scoutcraft, Handicraft, Environmental Resource Center, Archery, and Shooting Sports, and much more. The new facility on camp is our dining hall, named the Frank K. Merrill Centennial Dining Hall. Centennial Dining Lodge boasts state of the art facilities, a capacity of over 700, and a safe place to take shelter.

Gerber Scout Camp Set near Twin Lake, Michigan inside the Manistee Forest, Gerber Scout Reservation boasts an amazing amount of opportunities for Scouts. When you arrive at Gerber Scout Reservation, you can expect a fantastic week of Scout's learning not only Scout skills but, life-long skills in communication, sportsmanship, high self-esteem and leadership.

Programs are offered for both the first-year camper and the more experienced Scouts. From our highly visited Handicraft area to our Power Cut program where Scouts will mountain board and cycle, Gerber has something for every Scout.

Have first-year and even second-year Scouts that are looking to earn their first advancements towards Eagle Scout? Our Eagle Quest program is the headquarters specifically designed just for these Scouts. Maybe you are looking for something a bit more hands on? Gerber's welding, and metalworking Merit Badges are some of the many examples of the advancement being taught in the Skilled Trades Center.

And we haven't even mentioned the aquatics area yet. Gerber's Big Britton Lake hosts a huge variety of Merit Badges that may be difficult to earn anywhere else. From canoeing, rowing, small boat sailing, kayaking, and swimming our waterfront staff is excited to help your Scouts succeed. It doesn't matter if you're a first-year Scout or a Scout leader, all are welcome to come and test their skills at the waterfront.

John Ball Zoo's Summer Zoo Camp is a unique, hands-on learning experience for children ages 3 years to those entering 9th grade! Each class follows a specific wildlife theme and uses a variety of methods to stimulate the learning process (role-playing, behind the scenes tours, games, stories, songs and more). Special projects are often brought home throughout the week. Each class has their own room with a qualified instructor and educational aide, and will frequently spend time in the zoo and park setting. Day camp and overnight programs are designed for the age students will be at the start of class or for the grade level students will be entering in fall. Class sizes are strictly limited to provide a high quality experience.

YMCA Camp Pendalouan on the shores of Big Blue Lake offers a quiet, rustic setting and unparalleled service for groups from throughout Michigan and the Great Lakes region. We are located near Muskegon, Michigan, on over 150 acres of mature oak-pine forest, adjacent to the Manistee National Forest and the White River. Summer camps, seasonal events, weekend camps, school programs, and group retreats highlight our great camping program at Pendalouan. As a YMCA camp, we have access to national standards for developing character as well as a host of other assets. We maximize our resources through soliciting and acting on parent evaluations, following state guidelines, and maintaining the highest possible standards established by the American Camp Association.
