Since 1955, MDA Summer Camp has offered young MDA community members an opportunity to attend a week-long, sleepover summer camp with other children that are just like them-often known as "the best week of the year." Offered to MDA campers at no cost to families, MDA Summer Camp allows kids the opportunity to experience the joy of just being a child. Campers range in age from 8-17, and participate in activities like swimming, sports, archery, canoeing, and even zip-lining. As they have fun and be themselves together, children make friends with people who are just like them, and gain confidence and support through each other. MDA Summer Camp and activities are designed to remove many of the obstacles young MDA community members may face in their day to day lives, and all camps are supported by round-the-clock medical staff and trained volunteer counselors.
